New notes as of Wednesday 5/27/26

Hello Team!

  • Sorry to move the staff night last minute. It is now scheduled for FRIDAY 5/29. See you all there!

  • The cleaning list is not a suggestion; it’s a list of chores that NEED to be done. Please make those things a priority during your shift.

  • If you are scheduled for a shift and cannot work it, please reach out to other staff members to try and have it covered. If you are unable to get coverage, please reach out to Marley or Kimmee for help getting it covered.

  • Cell phones must be left in the office or the kitchen to be checked periodically or to look something up for a guest. If you do need to use your phone, please do so in the office or the kitchen. (Shift leads will be using their phones for more things)

  • We do not let guests take animals out without a volunteer name tag, and then as volunteers they are sharing the animals with other guests. I know that in the slow season rules get relaxed a bit, but we need to “tidy-up” this behavior because it is very confusing and frustrating to other guests. Yes, we do get to know the families that come often, but we cannot give them preferential treatment or let them be rude to other guests (it was guest children in this case). I will be calling Amanda this week, so she will be in the know, and is welcome to volunteer if she wants to get the animals out.

  • REMINDER: $5 charge for extra guests coming with members. (Plus families get 2 free guests, any additional guests pay $5 each) — please use the button called “Member Guest” to charge them $5 per additional person. If there’s any issues, let the customer be right ;)
